What travel documentation is
required?
Caution: The requirements described below are required by government
regulations and policies. They are subject to change without notice.
It is the sole responsibility of the guest to identify and obtain all required
travel documents and have them available when necessary. These appropriate valid
travel documents such as passports, visas, inoculation certificate and family
legal documents are required for boarding and re-entry into the United States
and other countries.
Guests who do not possess the proper documentation may be prevented from
boarding their flight or ship or from entering a country and may be subject to
fines. No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring proper
documentation.
Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI)
The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) when fully implemented on June
1, 2009 will require all travelers to and from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and
Bermuda to present a valid passport or other approved document that establishes
the bearer's identity and citizenship in order to enter or reenter the United
States.
Passport Requirements
A valid passport is a requirement for air travel to / from Canada, Mexico the
Caribbean and Bermuda.
Effective June 1, 2009 only a valid passport (unless otherwise noted below) or
other WHTI compliant document will be accepted for entry or re-entry into the
United States. For a list of all approved documents visit:
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html#compliant_document
U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same
port in the U.S.) will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of
citizenship, such as a birth certificate and laminated government issued picture
ID, denoting photo, name and date of birth. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16
will be able to present either an original or a copy of his or her birth
certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issues by DOS, or Certificate of
Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Alien Registration Card (Green Card)
U.S. lawful permanent residents will continue to be able to use their Alien
Registration Card issued by the Department of Homeland Security or other valid
evidence of permanent residence status to apply for entry to United States.
Card renewal is an important matter. ARC holders (United States permanent
residents) with expired cards may be considered "out of status" and may be
denied entry / reentry into the United States. If your ARC was issued over 10
years ago, you should check the expiration date printed on the front of the
card. If your card is expired, or it is about to expire, you should renew your
card before you sail.
If you are holding an old edition ARC WITHOUT an expiration date, you will not
be detained from entering the United States but U.S. Customs and Border
Protection highly suggests that you apply for a new card before you sail.
For additional information, visit:
http://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/greencard_renewal.html
Sea Travel Only (before June 1, 2009)
For domestic travel which includes: the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean
and Mexico, a Passport (valid or expired), valid U.S. Passport Card or State or
Provincial Enhanced Drivers License is highly recommended.
In the absence of a Passport, U.S. Passport Card or State or Provincial Enhanced
Drivers License (when available - this secure drivers license will denote
identity and citizenship) or any other Department of Home Land Security approved
Identification / Citizenship document(s), a birth certificate (original or
certified copy), plus a laminated picture ID card including photo, name and date
of birth issued by a federal, state, or local government agency is required.
U.S. and Canadian citizen children ages 18 and under will be expected to present
a birth certificate issued by a federal, state, provincial, county or municipal
authority.
Note:
Baptismal paper and hospital certificates of birth are not
acceptable.
A voter registration card or Social Security Card are not
considered to be proof of citizenship.
For U.S. Naturalized citizens, in the absence of a passport, Naturalization
papers (either original or notarized copy) plus a laminated picture ID card
issued by a federal, state, or local government agency is required.
Our Recommendation
Cruise lines strongly recommend that all guests travel with a
valid passport during their cruise. This greatly assists guests who may need to
fly out of the United States to meet their ship at the next available port
should they miss their scheduled embarkation in a U.S. port; guests entering the
U.S. at the end of their cruise; and guests needing to fly to the U.S. before
their cruise ends, because of medical, family, personal or business emergencies,
missing a ship's departure from a port of call, involuntary disembarkation from
a ship due to misconduct, or other reasons.
Guests who need to fly to the United States before their cruise ends will likely
experience significant delays and complications related to booking airline
tickets and entering the United States if they do not have a valid U.S. passport
with them.
For additional passport information visit
www.travel.state.gov.
Foreign nationals should contact their
respective governments to obtain further details.

Age Policies:
Carnival Cruise Line
| |
Minor Guest Policy
Guests are required to be 21 years old (on embarkation day) to travel.
1) Guests under the age of 21 must travel with their parent,
grandparent or a court-appointed legal guardian in either:
- The same stateroom, or
- Staterooms side-by-side, or
- Staterooms directly facing each other across the hall.
- Important Note: In order for the staterooms to be
side-by-side or directly across the hall, staterooms booked on a TBA basis
will not be permitted.
2) Guests under the age of 21 not traveling with one of the
following (parent, grandparent or court-appointed legal guardian), must travel

The exceptions Carnival will make to this policy
are:

married.
- The couple must have a marriage license (issued by the
County Clerks office) at embarkation or they will be denied boarding
without the benefit of a refund.
Same-Sex Union minor couple
- The booking must be documented that the minor couple are
legal Same-Sex Union partners.

eligible to be an exception to the Carnival Age Policy.
- Military personnel do not have to be booked under
a Military Rate to be able to travel.

Guest ages will be verified at embarkation. Guests not
conforming to this policy will be denied boarding and assessed a 100%
cancellation penalty. No exceptions will be made at embarkation. The Group
policy is slightly different because of stricter group terms and conditions
including mandatory chaperones, damage deposits and other considerations.
Guest acknowledges that the minimum age permitted for the purchase, possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages aboard Carnival’s vessels is twenty-one (21). Guest agrees to supervise all persons under age twenty-one (21) under Guest’s charge to insure that they do not violate this, or any other, shipboard regulation. Guests who attempt to purchase alcohol by using false identification or the Sail & Sign card of a Guest who is twenty-one or older will be deemed in violation of this policy. Any Guest twenty-one or older who attempts to or purchases alcohol for any guest under twenty-one will also be deemed in violation of this policy. Guest agrees that Carnival has the right to disembark any guest who violates this policy and as well as any adults traveling with minors who violate this policy or any other shipboard regulation.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line
| |
No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be reserved in a stateroom
unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older. This age
limit will be waived for minor children sailing with their parents or guardians
in adjacent staterooms or under-aged married couples (proof of marriage is
required).
Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to ask for proof of age. Royal
Caribbean International's age policy for gambling and consumption of alcoholic
beverages is as follows: Please note:An individual's age on the date of
sailing determines his or her status for their cruise vacation. However, if a
guest celebrates their 21st birthday during the cruise, the guest may thereafter
ask the Guest Services Manager to modify ship's records to permit their
consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the cruise. The guest will be
required to appear at Guest Services with his or her parent or guardian and to
present a government issued form of identification to establish that the guest's
21st birthday was celebrated during the cruise.
ALCOHOL POLICY
 |
Effective as of all sailings commencing on or after July 28, 2006, the
minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on all Royal Caribbean
International ships is 21. |
 |
However, on cruises departing from European and South American
countries, where the legal drinking age is typically lower than 21, a
parent who is sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s)
who is between the ages of 18 to 20, may sign a waiver allowing the 18 to 20
year old to consume alcoholic beverages. Please note: Waivers will be
provided to parents upon check-in.
|
 |
The 18- to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's
policies, including among other things, agreeing to not provide alcoholic
beverages to any other person, regardless of age. Restrictions apply, and
this policy is subject to change without notice. |
| |
 |
Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for
consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in
ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered
to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. Security may inspect
containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and
will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Royal Caribbean's Guest
Conduct Policy may be enforced, up to and including disembarkation,
if a guest violates any alcohol policy. Guests under the age of 21
will not have alcohol returned to them.
|
 |
Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume,
provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior,
or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check
points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at
their own expense, in accordance with our
Guest Conduct Policy.
|
|
All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids.
|
 |
Royal Caribbean reserves the right to revoke or otherwise restrict
drinking privileges of any guest, regardless of age. |

Fuel Surcharge Policies |
| Disney Cruise Line |
| As of December 1, 2008, Disney Cruise Line has stopped charging fuel surcharges for all new bookings. As any prudent business would do, we will continue to monitor fuel costs and may need to implement changes again in the future. |
|
Carnival Cruise Line
|
| *Terms and conditions: The Company reserves the
right to re-instate the fuel supplement for all guests at up to $9
per person per day if the NYMEX oil price exceeds $70 per barrel. |
|
|
Princess Cruise Line |
| At the time we suspended fuel supplements we reserved the right to reinstate them if the price of light sweet crude oil, according to the NYMEX, should increase above $70 per barrel. While we have now exceeded that threshold, in light of the economic crisis and resulting consumer weakness, we presently have no plans to institute a fuel supplement. We will continue to monitor the situation in the markets and review our position as the situation warrants. |
|
|
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line |
| Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to
impose a fuel supplement on all guests if the price of West Texas
Intermediate fuel exceeds $65.00 per barrel. The fuel supplement for
1st and 2nd guests would be no more than $10 per guest per day, to a
maximum of $140 per cruise; and for additional guests would be no
more than $5 per person per day, to a maximum of $70 per cruise. |
